13. Shaman’s Gate, maquette for a work in gleaming stainless steel with etched black design in eight panels set back from each other with a water element cascading between each. The entire work is ordered so that when seen directly from the front or back the eight separate sections form a contiguous figure symbolic of universal containment, ie, a traditional Northwest Coast style chest design, or gate. If set in a reflective pool with walkway-entryway through lower center, the entire design would be doubled below. Each panel 3’ X 12’ , complete width about 16 feet. The entire work could be much larger. Price would vary. 1990. |
